Launchpad

The Luminex Ordinals Launchpad has been live since March 2023, successfully launching several Ordinals collections. We have extensive experience in understanding market dynamics, particularly in terms of art appeal, community engagement, supply, and pricing for collections.

How does the Launchpad work?

Luminex offers an “inscribe on demand” model, meaning that art pieces do not need to be inscribed before the launch. Instead, they are inscribed by the minters themselves during the launch. This allows creators to avoid upfront inscription costs, as these costs are covered by the minters.

Key Features

  • Flexible Whitelist and Minting Phases: We offer flexibility regarding whitelist phases, mint prices for each phase, and the maximum amount that can be minted per phase.

  • Fixed Service Fee: Our service fee per minter is fixed and depends on the collection supply.

  • Comprehensive Support: We provide full support and advice before, during, and after the launch, including providing the necessary files to submit the minted collection on Magic Eden as quickly as possible.

Inscriptions: Static and Recursive

There are two main ways to prepare a collection for inscription:

Static Inscriptions

Static Inscriptions involve using static files, such as PNG or WEBP images, for the collection. Creators need to share the finalized files and the metadata JSON in the same format as any other Ethereum or Solana project. Luminex will handle the page creation from these files. This method requires minimal preparation, making it easy to implement. However, static files typically have larger sizes, which can significantly impact the inscription fees for the minters.

Recursive Inscriptions

Recursive Inscriptions use HTML files with Ordinal recursive endpoints to render the final art pieces directly on-chain. This method greatly reduces the final file size to around 170 bytes, leading to much lower inscription fees. However, the preparation process for recursive files is more complex. Creators must first inscribe the traits on-chain, and unless agreed otherwise, Luminex can assist with the recursive file preparation. We usually recommend using recursive inscriptions when static files exceed 1 KB each.

Method
Benefits
Cons

Static Inscriptions

To previous setup required, files can be inscribed as images

File sizes are usually larger, leading to increased inscription costs for minters

Recursive Inscriptions

File sizes can be reduced to 170 bytes while maintaining high image quality, minimizing inscription costs for minters

  1. Requires traits to be inscribed on-chain beforehand by the creator, incurring upfront costs

  2. Preparation of recursive inscriptions is not trivial
